Translations and markets

Translate swatch text so it reads correctly for shoppers in different languages and markets. A “Black” swatch shows as “Negro” in Spanish, “Couleur” replaces “Color”, and the widget keeps pace with your storefront’s other translations.

  • The group’s option name (for example, Color to Couleur).
  • Swatch names (for example, Black to Negro).
  • The “Show more” button text.
  • The collection swatch count text.
  1. Go to Settings > Translations.
  2. Pick the language and market you want to translate for.
  3. Fill in the translated text for your option names and swatch names.
  4. Save.

Translate for All markets by default. Pick a specific market only when the language changes by country, like US and UK English, where you want different wording per region.

Saving a translation triggers a metafield re-sync for the affected swatches. The new text usually reaches your storefront within a few minutes.
