Translations and markets
Translate swatch text so it reads correctly for shoppers in different languages and markets. A “Black” swatch shows as “Negro” in Spanish, “Couleur” replaces “Color”, and the widget keeps pace with your storefront’s other translations.
What you can translate
Section titled “What you can translate”- The group’s option name (for example,
ColortoCouleur). - Swatch names (for example,
BlacktoNegro). - The “Show more” button text.
- The collection swatch count text.
Set up translations
Section titled “Set up translations”- Go to Settings > Translations.
- Pick the language and market you want to translate for.
- Fill in the translated text for your option names and swatch names.
- Save.
Choosing a market
Section titled “Choosing a market”Translate for All markets by default. Pick a specific market only when the language changes by country, like US and UK English, where you want different wording per region.
When translations appear
Section titled “When translations appear”Saving a translation triggers a metafield re-sync for the affected swatches. The new text usually reaches your storefront within a few minutes.
