Getting started
This is the shortest path from a fresh install to changed prices. It takes about five minutes. There’s nothing to set up in your theme - the app works entirely from your Shopify admin.
1. Install the app
Section titled “1. Install the app”Install Bulk Price Editor from the Shopify App Store. The Free plan includes 1 task and 2 sales per month, enough to try everything on real products.
2. Pick a task or a sale
Section titled “2. Pick a task or a sale”The app has two features, and which one you need depends on whether the change should stick:
- The change is permanent (raising prices, updating costs, fixing margins) → create a task.
- The change is temporary (a promotion with a start and end) → create a sale. The app restores original prices when it ends.
3. Create your first change
Section titled “3. Create your first change”Say you want to increase all prices by 10%:
- Open Bulk Price Editor and click Create task.
- Under Price, select Increase price and enter
10percent. - Under Apply to, select Whole store - or narrow it down to collections, products, variants, or tags.
- Click Create task.
The task starts applying right away. The full walkthrough is at using tasks.
Say you want 20% off a collection for a weekend:
- Open Bulk Price Editor and click Create sale.
- Enter a Title for your own reference - customers never see it.
- Under Price, select Decrease price and enter
20percent. - Under Compare at price, select Set to old price (discount) so customers see the crossed-out original price.
- Under Apply to, select your collection.
- Set the start and end date (times use your store’s timezone), then click Create sale.
The sale starts on schedule and restores original prices when it ends. The full walkthrough is at using sales.
4. Watch it apply
Section titled “4. Watch it apply”The task or sale shows its progress live. Speed depends on your Shopify plan - roughly 400 to 5,000 products per minute (see how long price changes take).
When it finishes, open Details to see a log of every price change: each variant, its old price, and its new price. Spot-check a product on your storefront to confirm.
5. Where to go next
Section titled “5. Where to go next”- Set discount prices - show crossed-out original prices with compare at price.
- Edit margin and markup - price products from their cost per item.
- Shopify Markets - bulk edit price lists for specific countries.
- Tag automation - add or remove tags while a sale is active.
